The fine folks over at Mint.com, probably the most popular account aggregator online, reached out to me a few weeks back about sharing the process and thoughts behind automating your finances.
Obviously, I was happy to share.
They had a handful of questions to ask, including:
- What’s the advantage in automating your finances?
- Just how far can we automate the day-to-day stuff? Can we configure it so it’s more or less done automatically?
- What tools do you use to automate your finances?
- What alerts should you figure for any sort of finance automation?
- Is there anything that really shouldn’t be automated?
- What parts of personal finance do you think could have more automation?
If you’re a regular reader of the blog, you probably know my take on a bunch of these already; but if you’re a new reader, or just want to get re-affirmed that automating your finances is the way to go, check out the whole interview here.
