I’m Interviewed on Mint.com About Automating Your Finances

by Jason Unger

Mint.com

The fine folks over at Mint.com, probably the most popular account aggregator online, reached out to me a few weeks back about sharing the process and thoughts behind automating your finances.

Obviously, I was happy to share.

They had a handful of questions to ask, including:

  • What’s the advantage in automating your finances?
  • Just how far can we automate the day-to-day stuff? Can we configure it so it’s more or less done automatically?
  • What tools do you use to automate your finances?
  • What alerts should you figure for any sort of finance automation?
  • Is there anything that really shouldn’t be automated?
  • What parts of personal finance do you think could have more automation?

If you’re a regular reader of the blog, you probably know my take on a bunch of these already; but if you’re a new reader, or just want to get re-affirmed that automating your finances is the way to go, check out the whole interview here.
